This GenXer thanks you for defending the accomplishments of the boomers. As an American, the fad for mindlessly sneering at boomers makes me want to shout: give thanks to the boomers for their work on the Civil rights and women's movements.
Boomer women created the first domestic violence shelters and rape crisis centers. Idiots blaming boomers for "hoarding wealth" ignore the women who fell into dire poverty fleeing violent husbands, and the Black folks who couldn't buy houses. They were boomers too. (So much for "intersectionality," eh?)
And let's not forget the nailing of a dead rat to the Vancouver rape crisis center, one of the first salvos in the trans war in women's rights.
Transactivists are smart enough to offer a simple narrative, safe in the knowledge that most people won't have the time, energy, interest or courage to distinguish the LGB from the LGBT. Of course, the real chauvinism is indiscriminately smushing all those letters together; but by now that's almost become a too-big-to-fail enterprise. But it's all very ironic, given that the same people who claim not be able to see the difference between a man and a woman will nonetheless agonize down to the last byte of memory when it comes to choosing between two similar cellphones.
It is ridiculous to claim women are faster because smaller and then say larger stronger men are not a danger to them... the murder rate of women more than demonstrates this lie.

Thank you for this insight. I'm the GenX offspring of Silent Generation parents (Korean War, pre-polio vaccine, the Beats) with Greatest Generation grandparents and much older Boomer siblings. I was uniquely positioned to see the friction and fault lines between generational movements. I also have a boomer friend who's a trans widow, and we frequently discuss what's given rise to what, and when, and how.
Proximal generations dump on each other . . . it's a very old story. And each generation carries its own unique flavors of genius and shadow. But I do know this: if we don't come together across generations to fight what should and must be fought against (e.g. "trans" medicalization and policies built on "gender identity"), it's game over. And we also need to remember what "elder" signifies.

I'd imagine they'd descend into, or rather continue taking nonsense. If we were to do that though, this would happen:
All competitive, athletic teams and sports would be dominated by men - in almost all athletic categories, Gold, Silver and Bronze would go to men. Women would have no chance of winning anything (except equestrian, and shooting sports). Where women competed side by side with men, they'd be crushed, competitively, and perhaps emotionally and physically.
Is it narcissism or misogyny that leads people to such delusions?
