There has been much speculation on this. For example, straight girls on the cusp of womanhood being loudly and jeeringly informed that women are just pain-loving sex objects might find that future too horrifying. Lesbian girls are being bullied in GSA clubs and Queer Associations by male femininity fetishists who can’t bear to look at them because they reject everything “feminine”. These boys tell them, the girls, that they’re really boys. Brand new research claims to reveal that most young women who identify as trans, are actually calling themselves non-binary. Well what does that mean? Are they medicalizing at all? Or just using the term as a shield to get them through the peer-pressure of high school and uni? Eventually researchers will have to take the huge and growing pool of detransitioners seriously and start questioning them. There’s got to be a wealth of information there.
All that and the fact that kids on the various ND spectrums are easy victims for the cult. Parents, teachers, counsellors, medical professionals all seem to be captured and so 'affirm' all these identities thus creating a vicious cycle. Any sensible adult suggesting caution or open exploratory communication rather than automatic affirmation and celebration is held out as an example if a 'hater'. My last few years as a teacher were so difficult... no-one was prepared to discuss the sex / gender debate at all. I taught a medical ethics unit but other RME teachers were horrified when I put a link to an LGB Alliance resource... Seemingly this was a sign I was akin to a fascist! The 16 year olds were effectively not allowed to research heretical viewpoints like a lesbian doesnt have a willie!
